Sam Cassetta, Chief Operating Officer
Sam Cassetta is the Chief Operating Officer of Singer Partners, LLC and its two funds; The Singer Global Opportunity Fund, LLC and The Singer Global Opportunity Offshore Fund, Ltd. As COO, he is responsible for all operations including finance, administration and business development. Sam is the former Senior Managing Director and COO of Barington Capital Group, L.P. a leader in event-driven\activist investing. Sam formerly served as Vice President and Director of Brinks Inc. Sam has served as chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of SmartServ Online (Stamford, CT) since its inception in 1993, and as it became a NASDAQ national market company in 2000. He is a former Special Assistant to Nelson A. Rockefeller during his terms as Governor of New York and Vice President of the United States. He later served as a consultant to the Rockefeller family. Sam held positions on both the U.S. Export Council and the Industry Sector Advisory Committee (ISAC) for GATT negotiations as an appointee of President Ronald Reagan and Secretary of Commerce Malcolm Baldrige. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) and as Chairman of YPO’s New York chapter. Sam is a renowned corporate governance expert and has lectured extensively on the topic.
